Portuguese midfielder on his way out at Sundowns
Newly crowned African Champions Mamelodi Sundowns are locked in discussions with Portuguese midfielder Miguel Reisinho over contract termination.
The 27-year-old midfielder joined Mamelodi Sundowns from a free transfer in Boavista in September 2025, signing a two-year deal with the Brazilians.
Reisinho faced a stiff competition at Masandawana that saw him feature in just 14 Matches across all competitions, boosting with two goals, plus one assist.
Club and player are believed to be in advanced talks over parting ways on mutual term after the player expressed his frustrations on lack of game time.
The Club is also open to freeing a valuable foreign slot per PSL handbook where a club is allowed to register a maximum number of 5 foreign players.
The 18-times South African champs have already seen all their foreign spot occupied by Marcello Allende (Chile), Arthur Sales (Brazil), Nuno Santos (Portugal), Bryan Leon (Colombia) and Miguel Reisinho (Portugal) ahead the June transfer window.
With lot of international tournaments such as the CAF Super Cup, CAF Champions League and FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup on the horizon Masandawana will unsurprisingly be in the market for an international player to bolster their squad.
There are Portuguese club’s said to be interested in bringing the unsettled Reisinho back home after what seems to be an unsuccessful stay at Sundowns.
