Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos is adamant that his side is in pole position to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as he believes that the work is still not finished as they still need to solidify their top fate with a positive results in today’s qualifiers.

Broos troops square off to face the Nigeria’s Super eagles at the crunch FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Free State Stadium on Tuesday at 18h00, The experienced Belgian tactician has came out to shift pressure to Nigeria who desperately needs three points to stay on the race of qualifying for next year’s World Championship.

“Tomorrow it’s an important game, i think we are now in a position I did not really expect from the beginning, six points ahead of Nigeria, five points ahead of Benin and that with three games to play, So that means we are in a good position but is still not finished,” Said Hugo Broos

“It will be a big mistake from us to think now that nothing can happen to us again, it’s up to us to play a very good game against a very good team who may be playing their last chance tomorrow [to qualify for the World Cup], if Nigeria is not winning then they are in big trouble the pressure is on the but we will try to win it like we do always every game, if we can it will be should be a very good results  a fantastic results for us,” Broos added.

Broos says that he will also be satisfied with a point against Nigeria

“But what I said already before the game of Lesotho last week, if we have four points out of six points out of the two games I will also be happy but that does not mean that we will play tomorrow [Tuesday] for a draw that is too dangerous to do it again we will try to win it.” Hugo Broos told reporters yesterday.
