Betway Premiershipnewcomers Durban City are searching for a new Coach to replace the experienced Gavin Hunt who was sacked by the club on Monday, 01 December on a mutual agreement.

The 54-year-old gaffer leaves City on 8^th position in the league standings after 14 games on their maiden season in the topflight of South African football. Assistant Coach Pitso Dladla will take charge of the team in the upcoming Betway premiership fixture against Orbit College on Wednesday, 03 December at Olympia Park stadium.

N’wereti news has been informed that Durban City are in talks with PSL renowned coach,Enerst midderndorp for a sensational return in the Kwa-Zulu natal based outfit to replace the departed Gavin Hunt at the helm of the Betway Premiership newbies.

Midderndorp was the club’s Technical Director at the start of the 2025/26 campaign but was later let go by the club over an alleged fallout between him and the then head coach Gavin Hunt due to the lack of use of technology on his coaching setup.
