Hugo Broos announces his final squad for the crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers
Bafana Bafana Head Coach has announced his 23-man squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Rwanda.
Bafana will face Zimbabwe at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 10 October, before hosting Rwanda at the Mbombela Stadium on 14 October.
Hugo Broos’ men need two wins or outscore Benin in these two fixtures, after being docked three points by FIFA last month for fielding an ineligible player [Tebogo Mokoena] against Lesotho on the 21st of March earlier this year.
On Thursday, Hugo Broos announced his 23-man squad, which he trusts to take South Africa to the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Goalkeepers: Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns), Sipho Chaine (Orlando Pirates), Ricardo Goss (Siwelele FC).
Defenders: Malibongwe Khoza, Khuliso Mudau, Aubrey Modiba (all Mamelodi Sundowns),Khulumani Ndamane ( TS Galaxy), Mbekezeli Mbokazi (Orlando Pirates), Thabang Matuludi (Polokwane City), Samkelo Kabini (FK Molde), Nkosinathi Sibisi (Orlando Pirates), Thapelo Morena (Mamelodi Sundowns).
Midfielders: Tebogo Mokoena (Mamelodi Sundowns), Thalente Mbatha (Orlando Pirates), Bathusi Aubass ( Mamelodi Sundowns), Sphephelo Sithole (CD Tondela), Sipho Mbule (Orlando Pirates).
Strikers: Iqraam Rayners (Mamelodi Sundowns), Lyle Foster (Burnley FC), Tshepang Moremi (Orlando Pirates), Mohau Nkota (Al Ettifaq), Relebohile Mofokeng (Orlando Pirates), Oswin Appollis (Orlando Pirates).
