Stellenbosch FC star midfielder Andre De Jong has been called to the New Zealand team squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Norway.

De Jong’s impressive domestic form with Stellenbosch FC has earned him an international call-up after he was named in coach Darren Bazeley’s 23-man squad to face Robert Lewandowski’s captained Poland and Erling Haaland’s Norway in two friendlies next month.

The 28-year-old made his senior international debut for New Zealand in 2018, and returns to the fold of the national team for the first time in three years. De Jong already has ten international caps and two goals for the All Whites.

New Zealand will face Poland at Stadion Slaski in Chorzów on Friday, 10 October, before travelling across Europe to take on Norway at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo on Tuesday, 14 October, during the international friendlies.
