Services at the Home Affairs offices in the Pretoria CBD have been disrupted. This is after scores of people blocked the entrance to the offices, demanding the unblocking of their identity documents.

The situation prompted law enforcement officers to divert traffic away from the area.

One of the protesters, Moses Mabuza says Home Affairs authorities blocked his identity document in 2012 with no explanation.

“They blocked my ID in 2015. I can not get my money from the bank since my retirement. It is also blocked. Please, I am suffering.”
