‘Tomorrow’s game is one of the most important for Bafana in the last 24 years’ – Hugo Bross
Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos’ stance on the importance of Friday’s crucial FIFA World Cup Qualifier encounter against Zimbabwe at the Moses Mabhida Stadium at 18h00.
The South African men’s national team found itself in a limbo after being docked 3 points by the football governing body for fielding an ineligible player [Tebogo Mokoena] on the 21st of March in Polokwane against Lesotho.
Bafana Bafana are now second in Group C with 14 points tied alongside table toppers Benin, who have a superior goal difference.
“We are all aware that we are playing a very important and tough game tomorrow. We’ve had a very good week at training and we’re confident that we can do the job,” Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos told reporters.
“I think this game of tomorrow is one of the most important games for Bafana Bafana in the last 24/25 years. By victory, we have a big chance to qualify, and by defeat, I think we can stop dreaming.
“So that means it is very important [to win], but it will also be difficult. Zimbabwe has been a difficult opponent, and tomorrow it will be no different. They are very motivated when I read their comments. We don’t have to expect favours from them.” Said Hugo Broos.
