TSHWANE — Gauteng’s top law enforcement commanders converged in the Tshwane District to launch a massive, multi-disciplinary Operation Shanela II deployment aimed at aggressively reducing crime patterns across affected policing precincts.

SAPS Tshwane District Commissioner, Major General Samuel Thine, alongside Gauteng Provincial Heads Brigadier Levy Mere and Brigadier Solang Dibakoane, led the high-level strategic briefing on Saturday, 23 May 2026. The intelligence-driven operation integrates resources from the Department of Home Affairs, the Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD), and the Gauteng Growth and Development Strategy (GGT) 2030 task teams.
