Northern Cape SAPS Takes Child Protection Campaign to the Airwaves to Fight Statutory Rape
KIMBERLEY — The South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Northern Cape has taken its Child Protection Month campaign to the airwaves to intensify awareness around child exploitation.
Lieutenant Colonel Thabo Litabe, from Corporate Communication and Liaison, joined the Teemaneng FM Radio breakfast show on Tuesday morning to address the public directly on the issue of statutory rape.
During the broadcast, Lt Col Litabe urged local communities to play an active role in shielding children from sexual exploitation and abuse.
The radio appearance forms part of the provincial SAPS strategy to leverage local media platforms to build public partnership and enhance safety measures for vulnerable youth.
