Two dead following shooting incident in Centurion

CENTURION – Gauteng police have launched a manhunt following a deadly shooting outside the Blue Valley Golf & Country Estate on Thursday afternoon.

The incident, which occurred at the entrance of the residential estate, left two people dead and two others hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

According to Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, four people were entering the estate in a Toyota vehicle when they were ambushed. Two unidentified men riding motorbikes approached the car, dismounted, and opened fire on the occupants before fleeing the scene.

“The driver and passenger sitting in front were declared dead, while the other two sustained injuries and were taken to hospital,” Nevhuhulwi said.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has opened a case of murder with two counts and attempted murder with two counts.

The motive for the attack remains unknown at this stage. Police appeal to anyone with information to contact the Crime Stop hotline on 08600 10111 or submit a tip via the MySAPS app.
