Khalil Ben Youssef slams Chiefs’ supporters for being ’emotional’ after recent penalty misses!

Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Khalil Ben Youssef came out to call out Amakhosi faithfuls for being too critical of his players after recent penalty misses against Marumo Gallants and AmaZulu FC in the Betway Premiership.

Amakhosi started this season’s campaign on a high, securing 13 Points out of a possible 15. Chiefs have since endured a difficult patch in the domestic league, managing to pick just 2 points in their last three home games.

“Bringing players with character, mentally strong, who can resist the pressure here because honestly there is a lot of pressure in this team, like in other teams, but let me say the pressure is very big here,” Kaizer Chiefs’ 1st assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef told reporters.

“Secondly, with the social media here we need professional players, players who don’t see [or don’t care) about social media, because here you score one goal, you are like Messi, tomorrow you miss a penalty, you are a plumber, you know nothing about football.

“It’s so emotional here. So, if you have players who are a lot on social media and without character, it’s easy to destroy them.” He added

“That’s why we want to bring players with character, who played on the high level, who know what pressure means, and how they control and manage it – that’s the most important thing and also, the technique and the tactic.” Khalil Ben Yousef Concluded.

Amakhosi will be back in action on Sunday when they visit struggling Stellenbosch FC at the DHL Stadium in the Carling Knockout cup round of 16 encounter at 15h00 live on SuperSport PSL Channel 202.
