Former President Jacob Zuma has instructed his legal team to apply for leave to appeal Judge Nkosinathi Chili’s ruling in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Thursday to grant the state’s so-called Stop Stalingrad application.

Judge Chili said it is in the interest of justice that the arms deal corruption trial commences regardless of any applications or pending appeals.
