Two killed in collision allegedly involving Motsoaledi convoy vehicle
Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi’s official vehicle was involved in a fatal crash on the N1 near Bela-Bela, Limpopo that claimed the lives of a mother and her baby. The incident occurred on Saturday, 9 May 2026, when the woman was reportedly attempting to cross the highway to reach her husband, who had been struck and killed by a separate vehicle driven by an off-duty police officer just moments earlier.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) confirmed that the minister’s vehicle was being driven by a member of the Protection Security Services (PSS). Following the collision, Minister Motsoaledi and his team remained at the scene until emergency services arrived.
