IFP’s Mlungisi Mabaso vows to restore Joburg to its former glory
The Inkatha Freedom Party’s (IFP) newly unveiled Johannesburg mayoral candidate, Mlungisi Mabaso, has pledged to return the city to its peak standard if voted into power.
Mabaso, who currently serves as one of the youngest Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) heading the Human Settlements portfolio, announced a comprehensive 10-point rescue plan aimed at revitalising the metro. His core legislative and administrative priorities center on accelerating housing delivery, driving employment, ensuring clean governance, and fostering a community-focused administration.
Emphasising a return to basic service delivery and civic pride, Mabaso stated that an IFP-led government would instil a rigorous culture of safety, discipline, and operational excellence, adding that clean streets and secure neighbourhoods remain non-negotiable pillars of his vision.
