PRETORIA – Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie has launched an urgent probe into the subpar living conditions experienced by South African athletes at the 24th African Athletics Senior Championships in Accra, Ghana.

The intervention follows widespread public outrage after a social media video, published by South African athlete Aiden Smith, exposed inadequate catering and poor accommodation at the official village.
